Reseller Altered Images has completed installation of an end-to-end promo production and post set-up for NBC Universal Global Networks, the broadcaster behind the Sci Fi channel.

Installation was completed in conjunction with a move to new central London premises and provides NBC producers with a platform for creating promos and campaigns for four of its UK channels - SCI FI, Hallmark Channel, Movies 24 and Diva TV.

Paul Rushforth, facilities manager at NBC Universal Global Networks said: “We [now have] a sophisticated and flexible system that significantly reduces production time and costs and enhances creativity.”

The new set-up doubles the facility's capacity from three to six production suites. It includes four Avid Media Composer systems, a 32TB Unity, Avid Interplay, Anystream Encoding and a Mac graphics suite.

The four Avid Media Composer systems are made up of two Nitris DX and two Mojo DX.

The new workflow sees Digibeta or HD Cam material is stored on the Unity. It is digitized into the Interplay so that producers and editors can view it, log clips on the desktop, generate clip lists, create promos, add the affects, lay down the audio and send back out via tape or file.
