Object Matrix has teamed up with MXF workflow applications firm Glookast to add a partial restore function to its Interconnect product.

The new option enables Object Matrix users to perform partial restore to content that is managed by Avid Interplay but resides in a MatrixStore nearline storage platform.

“The new functionality is very exciting and is a natural extension of the workflows that allow our customers to work with lower resolution clips on their production storage safe in the knowledge that the high resolution clips are protected in the MatrixStore nearline archive,” said Object Matrix co-founder Nick Pearce.

“Ensuring that the capacity usage is kept to a minimum on the higher cost online storage is just one of the many benefits of this new approach,” he added.

The partial restore option will be available from January.
