The On Sight 3D Centre, which is based at the company’s Axis Films rental HQ, has been designed to provide education and training for producers and also showcase services, workflows and technology for making 3D television.

It was opened today (Tuesday 11 May) by Pinewood Shepperton chief executive Ivan Dunleavy.

The set-up includes permanent infrastructure and 3D camera rigs along with stereo post-production facilities and screening capabilities.

Chief executive Simon Craddock said: “[The 3D Centre] allows us and our partners to cover the entire 3D production process in one location. We are able to show clients a range of 3D camera rigs and HD cameras to find the best combination for their needs.”

A host of manufacturers are providing kit including JVC, P+S Technik, SGO, Element Technica, O’Connor, Sony, Tektronix, Transvideo and Projection Design.
