London-based Pilat Media has migrated Sky New Zealand to version six of its playout software, Integrated Broadcast Management System (IBMS).

Pilat said the on-demand planning functionality of IBMS version 6 will help with the scheduling for Sky’s online media player, iSKY.

Brian Sims, technology delivery manager at Sky, said the broadcaster relies on IBMS to automate and coordinate content acquisition, planning, scheduling, and playout.

“The system has grown with us over the years as we have taken on increasingly complex workflows,” Sims said. “Migrating to version six was the next logical step to meet our new business challenges.”
