More than £5m worth of rigging kit is thought to have been lost in the fire which engulfed the James Bond set at Pinewood Studios on Sunday. Although three crew members were understood to be in the process of dismantling the set - which included an underwater tank - when the fire started, no one was harmed in the blaze.

It took fire-fighters around two hours to extinguish the flames, which caused the roof of the stage to cave in. The set had been used as a sound stage for the forthcoming film Casino Royale. A Pinewood Shepperton spokesman said that the 007 stage would need to be demolished and rebuilt. Meanwhile Soho post houses Rushes and VTR's recently dismantled TMR were hit by a fire last Friday morning. Part of Rushes' roof was damaged in the blaze and the facility suffered some water damage in its machine rooms from fire hoses. One of TMR's six nitrate vaults - used for storing film - was destroyed in the fire. Staff in both buildings were unhurt and business resumed that afternoon. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
