Platform Post has made a raft of new hires with Sonia Jawaheer among those to join the facility.

Jawaheer, who held the role of senior producer at Clear Cut Pictures, replaces Joanna Rowan who joined Onsight in July.

While at Clear Cut she oversaw post production of series such as the BBC’s Welcome to Rio and Bear Gryll’s Escape From Hell for Discovery.

“Sonia’s wealth of post production expertise is matched only by her unrelenting commitment and positive attitude,” said Platform creative director John Cryer.

“She is well respected within many production companies and trusted as someone who knows how to guide their projects creatively and technically.”

In May, Platform announced its “biggest ever” expansion, taking two more floors at its D’Arblay Street offices to enable it to grow from seven Avid Media Composer rooms to 12 and to build extra online capacity.

Former Prime Focus head of audio Ben Hooper has also joined the facility, which added a third dubbing suite during its recent expansion.

Hooper’s credits span shortform and longform with credits including commercials for Smartrite and Elizabeth Arden and TV series such as None of the Above for National Geographic and BBC1’s Street Patrol.

Platform managing director David Tasker said: “Client demand for an increased capacity in our audio department meant we needed another person.

“That person had to be one of Soho’s leading dubbing mixers and we could not have hoped to get anyone better than Ben Hooper who is one of the most highly regarded sound designers in the country.

“As we grow our facility, we want to ensure that clients have access to a high level of service and creative talent everywhere in the company and having Sonia, Rob and Ben in place is key to achieving this.”

Rob Newlove has also joined the Soho post firm as senior producer for long form.

He previously worked at Fifty Fifty Post and Molinare as post production manager.

Cryer added: “A technically knowledgeable team of post producers who are versatile enough to work across a broad range of programming genres is essential within a broadcast facility and the addition of Rob to an already strong department will undoubtedly prove popular amongst new and existing clients.”

Platform has also hired Nancy Marshall as office and HR manager from Spring Studios, while Tony Osborne has joind the facility from Smoke and Mirrors as technical operator .
