3,000 sq ft Maple Place HQ is roughly 1,000 sq ft larger than its former home

Dirty Looks Maple Place

Dirty Looks has moved to an expanded 3,000 sq ft facility at Maple Place, Fitzrovia.

The new base, which is roughly 1,000 sq ft larger than the grading specialist’s former home on Oxford Street, includes two HDR grading suites running on both Baselight and Resolve, as well as Sony X310 monitoring and IMF playback capabilities and Flame Online. It also has production offices, and a large 20-seat grading theatre that features a 6m-wide screen with 4K DCI Christie projection.

The facility runs on a private cloud system, and Dirty Looks has been fully moved in since September. It has already hosted several client-focused events and selective screenings at Maple Place.

Dirty Looks certified as a B Corp earlier this year, and has made extensive use of sustainable materials in the facility, including recycled gypsum board products and naturally insulating sheep’s wool. It has also upcycled materials from its old base.

The post house is also continuing to explore the donation of equipment heat to community organisations, expanding on the Exmouth public swimming pool ‘free heat’ project, which you can read about by clicking here, to help charities in the local London community.

The newly installed Maple Place infrastructure also includes per-device granular and real-time energy tracking, thanks to in-house custom software (currently in development) that measures live energy consumption per project.

“Our move to Fitzrovia isn’t just about more space; it’s about building a thriving hub for our talented team and clients” says Tom Balkwill, founder and managing director. “We’ve integrated sustainability into the very fabric of our new home, from recycled walls to smart infrastructure, pushing for high standards of green practice hence our inclusion in Bafta Albert’s Sustainable Suppliers directory.”
