The international film studios' results have recorded a rise in interim profits of 105%, from £613,000 to £1.26m. Pinewood Shepperton, which floated on the London stock exchange in May, also saw its turnover rise by 10% to £20.36m up from £18.45m for the same period last year.

The television and sound services division performed strongly with a £6m turnover, up 17% on last year's £5.14m. The solid performance stems from both new and returning series such as Weakest Link, All About Me and Everything That I Know About Men.

Pinewood Shepperton currently has 36 stages, which includes two purpose built 9,000sq ft television studios, but are currently in discussion with local authorities over planning applications. The building would see an increase of over 50% within the next ten years producing around one million more square foot of studio space.
