Red Vision VFX has opened a stereoscopic 3D studio inside Manchester digital content hub the Sharp Project.

The studio will be used to provide bespoke effects and 3D stereoscopic services for film and television, gaming, mobile and online projects.

The move follows a major restructure within the company in April that saw Red Vision Studios close and 35 staff made redundant.

Managing director David Mousley said: “The essential downsizing that took place in April was a tough period for us, and it’s gratifying to be able to make this major step forward into 3D production with new and external investment. We feel confidant we will now be able to play a part in sustaining and building the TV and film production base in the North West”

The North West Development Agency provided part of the funding for the new base which, it is hoped, will create a total of 26 new jobs next year.
