The Rushes Soho Shorts awards took place last week, with an impressive line-up of talent. Among those starring in the entries were David Thewlis, Sue Johnston and Alison Steadman. Presenting the awards were Nick Moran, Sean Pertwee, directors Roger Spottiswoode ( Tomorrow Never Dies) and Nic Roeg ( Don't Look Now, The Man Who Fell to Earth), plus veteran actor Leslie Phillips.

The winners were:

l The Discreet/Tyrell Titles, Sequences and Idents Award: Nexus Productions for its work on Steven Spielberg's Catch Me if You Can;

l The Sound Music Video prize: Partizan for the White Stripes Seven Nation Armypromo;

l The Rushes Short Film Award: Mark Waites at Mother and @ Radical Media;

l The Sony Newcomer Award: Shelly Wain at Cog;

l The Quantel Animation Award: Chris Shepherd for Dad's Dead.
