Smoke & Mirrors has created E4's new Espeak idents, which give viewers the lowdown on festivals such as the V Festival and Joust 2006 in a vox pop style. Commissioned by freelance creative director Neil Gorringe and produced by Channel 4's Selena Cunningham, the idents depict a master control room showing footage of the vox pops. S&M head of 3D Rebekah King-Britton modelled the circuitry and rendered stills of buttons and dials using Maya. DS artist Dan Andrew then composited the 3D renders in DS Nitris using festival footage to fill the screen. The idents are currently on air.
