Sony has returned its high-end compositing tool and so-called Inferno rival Socratto to the R&D bench just weeks ahead of its expected launch. The system, which was first shown in pre-beta form at NAB last year ( Broadcast, 24.4.01), has been in beta tests with firms including Glassworks and Moving Picture Company. The launch was expected on 1 October but there is now no sign of a release date
