Storage technology firm Object Matrix has announced a European reseller agreement with Sony.

The two companies are said to have been working together for a year on an integrated system that combines MatrixStore from Object Matrix with Sony’s Optical Disc Archive (ODA).

The agreement will see Sony make that combined system available to customers throughout Europe.

“By integrating MatrixStore into our archive solution, we are able to provide our customers with instant access to archived projects or library content, as well as ensuring business continuity,” said Robbie Fleming, application specialist, Sony.

Object Matrix co-founder and sales and marketing director Nick Pearce-Tomenius said the deal would allow his company to reach more potential customers.

“In an increasing global market accessibility is key and now with this further venture our integrated systems will be even more accessible to businesses,” he said. “The integrated solution enables instant access to archived files, business continuity, and a high level of security for archived assets.”

Object Matrix will be demonstrating MatrixStore, along with the Sony ODA, at NAB Show (booth SL5405).
