Fans can watch races play out on their tabletops through the SailGP app
SailGP has launched the Tabletop iOS Viewer, a new option to watch the race through a 3D VR view on the SailGP app for iOS.
The option can turn any flat surface, most notably tabletops, into a live, interactive race course to watch the sailing competition. Users can pinch, zoom and rotate to change the angle they are viewing from, and can take advantage of SailGP’s Live Line AR overlay, which gives insights into tactical decisions and strategy, including real-time boat speeds, wind shifts and more.
SailGP fans will be able to use the technology live this weekend during the New York Sail Grand Prix, and can try it out now on replays from past
races.
This development builds on the VR and AR experiences that SailGP released last year.

Our boats already race just meters from the shoreline, but now we’re bringing fans even closer to the action and providing real-time insight, wherever they are in the world. It means fans will never miss a moment with the action unfolding right in front of them.”
