Trevor Murphy, the managing director and owner of animation production company Bermuda Shorts, is to step down as head of the company in order to allow fresh blood with expertise in CGI to push the company forward, writes Sam Espensen.Murphy is to stay on as chairman and, apart from his personal projects, will concentrate purely on project development. He revealed to Broadcast that the decision to restructure the management team comes as a result of a "rapidly changing industry", and he hopes to increase the amount of work Bermuda gets in areas like computer-generated imagery. His replacement will be Julie Pye, who has worked at Bermuda as executive producer for three years, and who, according to Murphy, is "successfully developing Bermuda's CGI capabilities".Before arriving at Bermuda, Pye worked for eight years at Uli Meyer where her credits included Pepsi and American Express.Murphy commented: "Having worked with Julie I know that she's the right person for the job. Since she joined our international business has considerably expanded."Bermuda producer Emma Cooke will move over to head up the commercials division.
