Telegenic has purchased seven new EVS XT3 live broadcast servers and upgraded a further five for its new 4K truck.

The £1.5m investment, which was financed by Fineline Media Finance, will support Telegenic’s 4K truck, which is en route to Brazil, where it will be used by Sony to trial Ultra-HD coverage of the Fifa Confederations Cup.

Telegenic managing director Peter Bates said: “EVS has been the industry standard for live broadcast servers for several years.

“The XT3 offers an increase in the channels and will work in AVC-I, our preferred choice of codec.”
