The Football League is expanding the fibre-optic network that links its 72 clubs ahead of the start of next season’s new highlights contract with Channel 5.

All football clubs in the Championship are currently connected to ADI’s Live Venue fibre-optic network, which delivers HD match footage to ADI’s Sports Hub operations centre in Preston. League 1 and League 2 clubs will be added to the network by the summer. The Football League’s chief executive Shaun Harvey said the expansion of the fibre-optic network would “deliver new opportunities for supporters to view matches across a range of platforms”.
