Thomson, the service provider and parent company of Technicolor, has acquired a 33.3% stake in HD video editing company Canopus and plans to launch a public tender offer in a deal worth around£61.8m. The deal comes as part of Thomson's two-year plan to broaden its media and entertainment client base and accelerate its delivery of broadcast technologies.
