Former WRN Broadcast chief executive David Treadway has been appointed joint managing director of digital media services firm RR Media.

Treadway will work with existing MD Simon Kay, who will continue in his role as head of global content preparation.

Treadway has been tasked with developing RR Media’s London-based broadcast services offering including channel origination and distribution.

Prior to his role at WRN Broadcast, which was acquired by Babcock in March last year, Treadway held senior executive roles at Virgin Media, 3i and the BBC.

RR Media chief executive Avi Cohen said: “To have such an experienced business leader with a proven track record in the broadcast and media industry join RR Media will help us expand our business and customer base in Europe.

“He is vastly qualified to lead our team on a day-to-day level as we strive to continue evolving and improving our business and service offering in Europe.”
