A group of UK animators are planning another trade mission to China this year, after December’s trip to Beijing was hailed a success by the organiser.

Mark Leaver, of project management agency Parameter, said the return visit would build on the last mission, which saw the likes of Hit Entertainment, Classic Media, Gritty Realism, Kanoti, Avibond and BBC Worldwide showcase work in a bid to generate business.

“The whole point is that UK firms generate more revenue,” said Leaver. “If the outcome isn’t that, then we won’t have achieved what we set out to achieve. The companies are following up leads, and that’s something we are chasing.”

To secure funding for the return visits - to Shanghai in June and Hong Kong in December - the value of the trips must be proved to core funder UK Trade and Investment.
