UKTV is to install a new broadcast management system from MediaGenix at its Hammersmith HQ.

The MediaGenix WhatsOn system will replace the broadcaster’s Sintec Media OnAir platform that has been in use for the past ten years.

UKTV said the MediaGenix offering would provide it with greater flexibility to schedule and manage content across its 10 linear channel brands and support the broadcaster’s “rapidly growing” VoD business and expand its range of multiplatform services.

WhatsOn is expected to be in use across all UKTV channels by the fourth quarter of the year.

UKTV head of technology and infrastructure Tim Goff said: “MediaGenix are an important strategic partner for UKTV and a fantastic cultural fit.

“We are delighted to be adopting their WhatsOn system as it gives us powerful tools to craft complex, heavily layered linear channels but is also a product with VoD firmly at its heart.
