The University of Lincoln’s recently revamped TV studios will officially open tomorrow.

£500,000 has been spent on kit at the two TV studios on the university’s Brayford Campus, including four Ikegami HD cameras.

Head of the Lincoln School of Media Dr Sarah Barrow said: “It became obvious that when we came to replace the cameras they’d need to be high definition, but it’s essential for HD to have lighting of a particular nature.

“The loan [from Salix] enabled us to buy energy efficient LED lighting that was also the required standard for HD.”

The studios are available for hire and are part of a wider investment in media facilities at the university, which include a dubbing theatre.

The studios will be opened by broadcaster Roger Laughton.
