Brief Provide picture post for the satirical sketch show, which uses a mixture of low-tech traditional puppetry and state-of-the-art VFX and animation.

How it was done Platform’s expanded VFX department designed all in-programme graphics and VFX. CGI elements were created in Cinema 4D by David Aldhouse, with compositing and animation executed in Flame by John Cryer and Anthony Jarvis.

The VFX team used many motion-graphic styles, from stop-frame animation to CGI flyovers of London, all of which were given a miniaturised, shallow depth of field look. Landmarks were photographed using iPhones with wide-angle adaptors.

The iPhone allowed Platform to position the lens only a few millimetres from the ground to create plates that were suited for compositing into the miniaturised world.
