NAB 2012: Autodesk has overhauled its editing and VFX software Smoke.

The redesigned user interface is intended to be more intuitive and familiar to editors.

New feature ConnectFX has been described as “powerful node-based compositing inside the timeline for high-end effects and advanced compositing without leaving the editorial environment”.

Smoke 2013 will also run on the most recent iterations of Apple iMac and MacBook Pro systems using Thunderbolt storage and I/O.

It will be available in the fourth quarter of the year for £2,199 ($3,495).
