Two senior members of Blue 2.0’s management team have been granted a licence to trade as the Soho post house after a firm of administrators was appointed in August.
Head of HR and facilities Faye Burton and senior post producer Charlie Jordan, backed by a silent third party, are now running Blue 2.0 as new company West End Post, and operating as its joint managing directors.
All 65 of Blue 2.0’s employees are now working for West End Post.
The move follows the appointment of Ninos Koumettou and Yiannis Koumettou of insolvency practitioners Alexander Lawson Jacobs as joint administrators of Blue-2 Post Production Ltd, trading as Blue 2.0, on 16 August.
It is not yet clear what caused Blue-2 to become insolvent, or whether a buyer is being sought for the business.
Jordan told Broadcast: “There was no way we would want it to be taken away without the chance togive it a go under new management.
“We are aware of recent issues and can clearly see whatneeds to be looked at immediately as a team. Our clients have been more than supportive.”
Asked about debts and leases for equipment and property, Jordan added: “We have taken on all required leasing to continue the business.”
It was renamed Blue 2.0 as a nod to Blue, a facility that was part of the VTR Group first bought by Prime Focus in 2006.
Burton and Jordan had both worked at Blue 2.0 for the past 18 months and for Prime Focus prior to that.
The previous directors of Blue2.0 did not respond to any requests for comment by the time Broadcast went to press.
