The sale of London-based VFX and post house The Mill is edging closer.

Broadcast understands that an investment memorandum providing details of the firm’s financial history and its position in the post market has been sent to private equity and trade firms in a bid to find a buyer.

It follows the appointment in November of mergers and acquisitions specialist Harris Williams, which was given the task of reviewing the business for Carlyle, the private equity firm that acquired a majority stake in The Mill in 2007.

When news of the firm’s potential sale emerged at the end of last year, Mill chief exec Robin Shenfield told Broadcast that Carlyle “probably won’t own The Mill forever because it’s not its model. Carlyle comes into a business and helps it to grow”.
