The Digital Production Partnership (DPP) has revealed the components of its approved Common Technical Delivery Standards for HD commercials/sponsorship and promo material.

The standards include an Exceptions Process that will allow producers to deliver intentionally quiet content that does not meet the normal EBU R128 Loudness level.

The main UK broadcasters (BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, BT Sport and Channel 5) will begin taking delivery to these new specifications during 2016, with ITV expected to be the first mainstream broadcaster to implement the standard for commercials.

Full details of the standard are available on the DPP website.
