Content delivery network (CDN) EdgeCast Networks has signed a two-year deal to use Geo Networks dark fibre to transfer media files to its ISP customers.

Geo will provide connectivity between EdgeCast data centres in London.

EdgeCast chief financial officer Mike Kleiman said the “digital content explosion” means web users are consuming an increasingly broad range of media, which is driving a significant demand for bandwidth for CDNs.
