Filmlight will launch a new version of its flagship grading system at IBC, including a “major” upgrade to its stereoscopic toolset.

Baselight 4.3’s 3D functionality will include a “one click” geometry fix that corrects out-of-line images.

“We also now have all the grading operations on a single track, giving users the ability to auto apply grades to either eye through a single stereo track, which is a huge time saver,” Filmlight head of marketing Mark Burton told Broadcast.

Depth grading functionality allows users to manipulate geometry and apply grades in the depth plane.

“This toolset puts us into the space that Mistika has been occupying,” Burton said.

The software also features an automated object-based tracker, making it easier for colourists to apply grades to moving objects.
