Red Bee Media is lining up a post-production facility to look after up to 20 of the company’s in-house edit suites.

Red Bee is understood to be offering a two-year contract to supply kit and staff for the finishing suites, which are used by its Creative Services department.

BBC Studios and Post Production (S&PP) currently provides editing, audio and technical and operational support for the teams that produce promos and idents for the BBC, UKTV and Red Bee’s other clients.

The core infrastructure, including servers and storage, belongs to Red Bee, while S&PP owns the editing equipment.

S&PP helped create the post operation at Red Bee’s Broadcast Centre base when the former BBC subsidiary moved out of Television Centre in 2004.

A spokeswoman for Red Bee said: “We are always looking at ways to improve our operations.”
