The Farm has undertaken the UK’s largest installation of the latest version of Avid’s Pro Tools audio workstation and software.

The Pro Tools HDX hardware and v10 software upgrades were put in place in time for the current series of Britain’s Got Talent.

Twelve HDX systems, which provide fi ve times more processing power per card and twice the I/O connectivity per PCIe card, have been installed across The Farm Group’s three London facilities.

Dubbing mixers are also using Avid’s Channel Strip plug-in, which provides high-resolution audio processing from 44.1 kHz to 192kHz, and from mono to 7.1 surround.

HHB Communications’ post division Scrub was responsible for the upgrades.

The Farm broadcast engineer Anthony Kirkland said: “There was a very tight turnaround and Scrub worked with us to ensure we had a seamless transition.”
