WTS Broadcast has kitted out London-based Islamic community TV channel IQRA TV with two 3G TVU Packs.

The broadcaster purchased the two wireless transmitters to show live coverage of a John O’Groats to Lands End charity bike ride, which was broadcast on Iqra TV’s Sky channel 826 and over the internet.

“We were aware of 3G transmission technology as a cost-effective alternative to digital satellite newsgathering (DSNG) van hire, and decided to invest in the TVU Pack because we knew we would need it for on-going coverage of a variety of different events,” said IQRA head of studio Shahriar Habib.

“Use and assembly of the TVU Pack was easy, and for the most part it was a good low-cost alternative to DSNG.”
