Taskmaster chief will front this year’s July ceremony
Last year’s Broadcast Digital Awards-host Alex Horne is returning to front this year’s ceremony accompanied by his Horne Section band.
The presenter of Dave’s long-running comedy gameshow series Taskmaster will once again be delighting the crowd with his mix of witticism and musical humour.
Horne partners with Greg Davies on Taskmaster, which is now in its eighth season. He also hosts BBC Radio 4 and Dave’s live music variety series The Horne Section and regularly appears as a guest on Channel 4’s 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
The comedian is a general knowledge enthusiast and has appeared twice on ITV’s The Chase, along with facing up to questions on BBC1’s Celebrity Mastermind and C4’s Countdown.

The Broadcast Digital Awards are taking place at London’s The Brewery on 3 July and the shortlist was revealed earlier this month.
In the mix for the coveted best comedy programme award is the likes of Sky Atlantic’s Bafta-winning Sally4Ever, BBC3’s Fleabag and Gold’s Death on the Tyne.
The best drama programme nominees include Sky1’s Bulletproof, Fox’s Deep State and BBC3’s Killed By My Debt, while the likes of The Guardian and BT Sport have picked up nods in the best documentary programme category.
The Broadcast Digital Awards is launching two new categories as part of a wider evolution designed to celebrate the work being done beyond the PSB portfolio channels.
The new categories are Channel of the Year (Non-PSB group), and Gamechanger Programme of the Year.
