Diana Carter also steps up to new role at broadcaster

Dan Korn is stepping down as vice president of programming at Hearst Networks after a decade at the broadcaster.
He will depart in March, though will retain a creative relationship with the organisation.
Hearts has promoted commissioning editor and head of talent Diana Carter to director of originals and talent.
Korn has been in his role since joining A+E Networks, as it was then known, in October 2016 after a year-long stint as creative director of STV Group. Prior to that, he spent 15 years at Discovery, latterly as senior vice president and head of programming.
During his decade at Hearst, Korn has shaped its UK commissioning strategy and creative ambition, overseeing a wide range of factual programming across Sky History and Crime+Investigation.
These include Sky History orders Royal Bastards: Rise of the Tudors and Royal Kill List (both from 72 Films), Bradley Walsh: Egypt’s Cosmic Code (Studio Crook), Ross Kemp: The Mafia and Britain (Honey Bee Media) and Kursk: 10 Days That Shaped Putin (HiddenLight).
His Crime+Investigation slate includes Cops Gone Bad with Will Mellor (ITN Productions), Murders at Little Bridge Farm (Avalon), Heist: Robbing the Bank of England with Marcel Theroux (Soho Studios), and the forthcoming Ross Kemp: Lost Boys, Deadly Men (Vice).
Korn worked closely with Motion Content Group and Krempelwood on content financing and co-production models that increased volumes and enhance editorial quality.
He also helped spearhead Hearst Networks’ expansion into short and mid-form content and played a central role in developing the programming pipelines underpinning the company’s growing SVoD and FAST portfolio.
Under his leadership, Sky History secured Broadcast Digital’s Factual Channel of the Year, Broadcast Digital’s Gamechanger Programme of the Year for Al Murray: Why Does Everyone Hate The English? (Avalon), and most recently, the Broadcast’s Tech AI Innovation Award for Killer Kings (FirstLook TV and Sphere Abacus).
Korn said of his departure: “After 10 thoroughly enjoyable and creatively nourishing years at Hearst Networks, I feel immensely proud of what we have achieved together and excited to continue the collaboration, developing projects and new talent-based initiatives I’m passionate about through a new production commitment.”
Heather Jones, Hearst chief creative officer EMEA and general manager UK, said: “It is with immense sadness that we say goodbye to Dan after such an incredible run at Hearst Networks. He has transformed the quality, originality and ambition of our UK commissions and contributed enormously to the company’s growth.
“While he will be very much missed, we look forward to the next chapter of our relationship with him. Our commitment to investing in original content remains unchanged.”
