Cache-A has launched an LTO-6 archive appliance which it says offers almost 70% more storage capacity than LTO-5.

“With the advent 3D and trends towards the adoption of 4K and high frame rates, media projects just keep getting bigger, and can easily run into the hundreds of Terabytes of data,” said Cache-A president and chief executive Phil Ritti.

“The arrival of LTO-6 is great news for companies in the media and entertainment industries, as you can store more, and archive faster.”

LTO-6 is now available across the archiving firm’s Pro-Cache6, Power-Cache, and Library 24/48 automation systems.

The desktop Prime-Cache6 appliance is expected to be released in time for the NAB trade show in April.
