Federation Stories drama picked up in Australia, Europe and Hong Kong
Federation Stories’ UKTV original I, Jack Wright has landed a raft of international sales including HBO Max in Europe and ABC in Australia.
The 6 x 45-minute family drama follows a successful businessman who appears to have cut his family out of his will before killing himself. But as his family begins to feud over his inheritance, suspicions arise that the death was in fact murder.
Warner Bros Discovery has taken the drama for HBO Max in France and Central and Eastern Europe.
I, Jack Wright has also been sold to NPO in the Netherlands, Nova in Greece, Movistar in Spain, and RTS in Switzerland and by PCCW in Hong Kong.
The series premiered on the BBC Studios-owned UKTV channel U&Alibi in April. In the US, it recently launched on BBC-owned streaming platform Britbox, as an original, becoming one of the platform’s top five original series based on viewership.
It is created by Unforgotten writer Chris Lang and the cast features Nikki Amuka-Bird (Survivors), John Simm (Grace), Gemma Jones (Gentleman Jack), and Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones), Trevor Eve (A Discovery of Witches) and Daniel Rigby (The Witchfinder) in leading roles.
I, Jack Wright is exec produced by Federation Stories’ Polly Williams, alongside creator Lang and director Tom Vaughan, with Helen Perry serving as exec producer for UKTV.
The series has previously sold in SVT (Sweden), RUV (Iceland), NRK (Norway), DR (Denmark) and YLE (Finland) as well as Belgium, where channel RTBF also acted as a co-producer.
The distribution arm of London-based Federation Studios, Federation International, secured the deals and holds worldwide rights to the series.
