Former Technicolor managing director Simon Wilkinson has teamed up with long-time collaborator and ex-Technicolor head of editing Dominic Thomson to establish a boutique visual effects (VFX) facility in Soho.

Most recently at Halo Post, the duo are now managing director and creative director respectively of The Flying Colour Company (TFCC), offering creative 2D VFX. This includes set and scene replacement, as well as online editing and conform services for high-end TV drama and feature film producers.

TFCC has taken space inside Warner Bros De Lane Lea on Dean Street, where it will have Autodesk Flame and Smoke suites as part of its VFX pipeline.

Wilkinson said: “We are not looking to become a huge company. We want to be associated with providing high-quality VFX to high-end broadcast drama and niche but high-quality VFX shots to independently produced or tent-pole studio feature films.”

TFCC’s first job is on forthcoming BBC1 drama The Missing.
