ITFC has appointed former BSkyB programme director Lesley Marr to the new role of senior operations director.

Marr will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of all ITFC operations including media access, video services and programme management.

She will also develop and execute strategies for the company’s continued progression to file-based systems.

“Lesley has an excellent knowledge of the industry and will play a key part in helping us move to an all-digital, file-based environment,” said Chris Higgs, managing director, ITFC

Before joining BSkyB, Marr was strategy and new business director at Technicolor (TNS Global).

This followed a role as head of operations at TNS Chiswick Park, with responsibility for client management of channels including Disney - UK, Scandinavia and Middle East, Jetix, ESPN and Discovery HD. 

Marr has also worked at production and post-production company Locomotion and broadcast equipment manufacturer Quantel.

Marr said: “I’m looking forward to the challenge of helping the company move towards a tapeless environment and to working with such a passionate and dedicated team.

Lesley is also founder of specialist consultancy, Fast Tortoise, and is a member of the IBC conference committee.

ITFC provides digital media asset management, subtitling, audio description, telecine, editing, restoration, DVD authoring and encoding, QC, HD and SD conversions and duplication.
