Marquis Broadcast and Object Matrix have agreed a joint partnership that will result in a technology offering for broadcasters and post-production facilities that simplifies the storage and retrieval of content.

The two companies are combining Marquis’ Parking archive and retrieval software with the Object Matrix MatrixStore near-line archive system (pictured).

Powered by Marquis Broadcast’s Media Highway Technology, the development takes advantage of Parking’s edit sequence archive and restore functionality and MatrixStore’s secure near-line storage and allows users to move entire sequences, including edit decisions, subclips and metadata, from dedicated Avid or Final Cut Pro storage to the MatrixStore environment in one click.

Sequences, including all metadata, essence and edit decisions, will then also be retrievable and available to be dropped directly into any editing system.

Granby Patrick, the technology director at Marquis Broadcast said: “Customers are always looking for ways to improve the cost efficiency of their broadcast and creative workflows while maintaining a flexible approach to resource management. We believe that the Parking/MatrixStore solution will improve workflow efficiency by simplifying the storage and retrieval of content, giving users the ability to respond to their customers’ requirement quickly and easily.”

Nicholas Pearce-Tomenius, co-founder, Object Matrix said. “The integration between Marquis’ Parking system and MatrixStore is a much needed development that enables content to be moved with minimum effort.”
