Brief House the offline edit and complete picture and audio post-production on the latest 25 x 60-minute series of MasterChef, the first to be finished at Splice.

How it was done Splice devised a tapeless workflow in keeping with the broadcaster’s file delivery requirements. Conforms were completed using Avid Interplay’s Dynamic Relink. This allowed for a fast turnaround, reducing conform time by more than half. Rory Ferguson completed the online in Symphony and colourist Andrew Cloke graded with Baselight. Each episode was tracklayed by Splice’s audio team and then mixed by dubbing mixer Steve Speed on the new Avid S6 M40 console. Speed employed extensive EQ to balance and enhance the studio and location dialogues. Devan Vimal was the post-producer.
