Moving Picture Company (MPC) has added another Projectiondesign Cineo32 DLP projector to its Wardour Street facility.

Supplied by Kaurus, it will be used as the main image display source in a new VFX review suite.

It is MPC’s third Cineo32.

John Frith, senior imaging engineer at MPC, said: “The cineo series solved a huge challenge for us, as our VFX review suites are not large enough for the big D-Cinema projectors.”

The Cineo32 has a high speed colour wheel that eliminates the rainbow effect associated with single chip projectors.

The projectors also feature DLP technology to simulate the image output of most digital cinemas.

Iris control allows the user to adjust light output while the Cineo32 can also be profiled to incorporate look-up tables (LUTs).
