NAB 2016: NewTek has launched is Network Device Interface (NDI) technology for live production IP workflows over ethernet networks.

NDI is available as a royalty-free software development kit for those who want to enable IP workflows, or for use in devices and systems they manufacture.

NewTek president and CTO Andrew Cross (pictured) said NDI would “provide a toolset for building the next generation of live production solutions that change the way we work”.

NDI has also been implemented into the latest version of TriCaster Advanced Edition software for the company’s TriCaster 8000, 860, 400 and Mini series of production switchers.

“TriCaster Advanced Edition creates a true IP workflow, in which any video device can see and work with any other using IP only, clearly illustrating what the future of video production looks like,” added Cross.
