Philips and Technicolor have agreed to merge their delivery road maps for HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology.
The link-up will take in not just displays but also content creation tools, encoding and decoding software, and implementation support.
The move will help the two firms bring to market products that are backwards compatible with Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) displays.
Early results of the merged technologies will be shown at NAB. Commercial deployments will follow later this year.
