Music artists from anywhere in the world can now apply to join the platform, which launches on 1 January 2023

Music library SphereTrax is seeking composers and musicians to submit music to its platform. The music will then be reviewed by the company, with successful entrants granted access to SphereTrax’s client base across film, television, advertising and gaming producers.

SphereTrax says its aim is to “revolutionise the way music is placed, synched and licensed in the entertainment industry”. It says it secures the best deals for artists and creates “more flexibility and freedom for them.”

As part of its offer to musicians, artists can speak directly to buyers and generate their own networks via SphereTrax.

The library will offer music mixed in Dolby Atmos, which the company says will mean composers and producers will “have the chance for their work to be made available in the production industry’s most desired and up-to-date format.”

All tracks accepted onto the platform receive free professional mastering.

SphereTrax promises artists the majority of the revenue generated by their music, and artists can also choose whether their music is exclusive or non-exclusive to SphereTrax.

Filmmakers can purchase music from the platform as NFTs, securing outright ownership and increasing their value. Contractual information will be stored transparently and securely on the blockchain with a traceable link to the licensor, the contributors and the audio track.

Sefi Carmel (pictured above), founder and CEO of SphereTrax, said: “As musicians ourselves, we wanted to do something revolutionary and prioritise the artist. Our Creator-Majority ownership model means that you keep control of more of your rights and returns, both at the point of license and as the residuals come through. This is the music revolution – a world in which artists can and will be paid fairly for their work, and have equal opportunities. No matter where in the world you are based, if you write songs, anthems, jingles, ballads, or any other genre of music, we’re welcoming you into our community and inviting you to find clients, opportunities and buyers in every continent. It’s time to monetise your music.”

SphereTrax is set to launch on 1 Jan 2023. Applications for composers are currently open, with 10,000+ tracks expected on the platform “in the near future”.
