Expressions of interest are now being invited for post companies to lease space in the building, which is five minutes walk from C4 HQ

Leeds post place

A historic building in Leeds – The Engine House – is being overhauled to create The Tower Works; a new creative hub for post-production companies in the city. The creation of The Tower Works is being described as one of the biggest regeneration schemes in Europe. Leeds City Council is now seeking expressions of interest from post houses to lease space in the Grade Two listed property.

The building is in the South Bank area of the city, which is already home to more than 500 creative and digital businesses and a five-minute walk from Leeds Station as well as the new Channel 4 HQ at the Majestic.

Leader of Leeds City Council, councillor Judith Blake, said: “It’s fantastic to be able to bring such a historically important building in Leeds back into use and provide this new opportunity to the TV and film sector. With Channel 4 coming to the city later this year, we are keen to support and work with companies to open up opportunities to help businesses work and expand within the city with the right spaces.”

Sally Joynson, chief executive at Screen Yorkshire added: ‘’We are thrilled that Leeds City Council has recognised the important contribution that enhanced post-production facilities can make to continued development of the sector.’’
