Webcams and TeamViewer used by OB truck builder to liaise with the client remotely
Germany’s Broadcast Solutions has completed two full-IP 12m long 4K OB trucks during covid-19 lockdown, configuring the vehicle remotely using TeamViewer, webcams and microphones for confirming details with the client.
The first truck, for Belgium’s public broadcaster for its French-speaking community, RTBF, has already been delivered, with the other identical vehicle due on 1 July.
They were designed by Geert Thoelen of NEP Belgium and Dirk Sykora of Lawo and built by Broadcast Solutions in Germany. Each includes a Sony XVS-8000 IP vision mixer for 16 Sony cameras.
The Sony Live System Manager provides the control interface to Lawo’s VSM IP control system, enabling an engineer at home to have remote access to the switcher network to configure the IP routing during the pan European lockdowns.
