Object Matrix will use next month’s NAB in Las Vegas to showcase a hybrid cloud storage architecture that uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) to store media assets.

The offering combines Object Matrix’s MatrixStore, which is typically deployed on premises, with AWS storage services, Amazon S3 and Amazon Glacier.

Jon Morgan, CEO, Object Matrix said of the tie-up: “MatrixStore ensures that assets are fully searchable across the entire hybrid platform, making them available for instant sharing, re-use, and distribution. Using AWS, we are able to make it much easier to monetise assets within the storage, and users get the added benefit of the scalability and data distribution provided by the cloud.”

The hybrid storage architecture “enables great operational and economic efficiencies, meaning asset (content and metadata) availability can be based on business and performance needs,” the company added.
