Twickenham Film Studios has launched what it calls “the UK’s largest and most state-of-the-art dailies department.”

It’s lead by head of picture Stuart Bryce, director of engineering and tech, Tomasz Witkowski, and head of tech and standards Jack Watts. The team has brought together dailies creatives, colour scientists, artists and technical operators for the dailies service.

The new department consists of 10 x dailies suites and 4 x 4K VFX review theatres with the latest Baselight alongside Daylight grading and dailies software.

Bryce said: “Twickenham Film Studios are leading the way in the deployment of cutting-edge dailies processing facilities, both in-house and on-location around the globe. Our state-of-the-art dailies carts harness the latest technology, utilising 12g SDI and solid-state RAIDs for blistering real-time 4K review in HDR/SDR with fully calibrated professional displays. With secure on-location LTO archive and a unified colour pipeline between dailies/VFX/DI/mastering, our ‘dailies-to-delivery’ approach ensures continuity at every stage of the post-production process”.

Witkowski adds: “For added flexibility and responsiveness, the new TFS Dailies department offers secure automated cloud backup from on-location dailies setups for all approved media, allowing for immediate VFX pulls whilst the productions are still shooting.”

Twickenham Film Studios managing director Cara Sheppard said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for the industry and we at TFS are focused on bringing together the best pool of talent including colourists, online editors, VFX artists, dailies and technical staff, mastering and QC operators.”
