Titles Mighty Giant

Client Phil McIntyre Entertainment

Brief Create titles for the six-part comedy series, written by Ben Elton, which capture central character Gerald Wright’s obsession with health and safety.

How it was done Mighty Giant designed a look based on the stick man used in many health-and-safety signs.

Working closely with Ben Elton to create the narrative, the animation of the central character was central to capturing the humour of the show and involved taking iconic warning symbols and graphic imagery to create the sequence.

Mighty Giant went back to basics for the test stage, returning to hand-drawn animation for initial sketches before moving into After Effects for the development and final stage of the titles.

The animation was created by senior designer Andy Horan. Jonathan Ashworth was creative director.
