Appointment follows promotion of Juli Porter to chief operating officer at sports indie
Sports producer Whisper Films has hired Karen Knowles (above left) as head of production.
Knowles, who joins from indie Ricochet, takes over from Juli Porter (right), who has been promoted to Whisper’s chief operating officer, a newly created role focusing on strategic development and company operations. Porter joined Whisper in 2012.
Knowles will manage the production department for Whisper Films, which has a portfolio including BBC Women’s Six Nations, Formula 1, SailGP, W Series, Women’s Super League and the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.
Whisper co-founder Sunil Patel said: “Karen brings a wealth of experience and contacts to Whisper, having worked on live primetime Saturday night shows and factual entertainment documentaries, and it’s great to welcome her back. I’m also really pleased about Juli’s promotion. She is an integral part of the Whisper team and her knowledge and experience are vital to the business.”
Whisper now has offices in London, Cardiff and Maidenhead.
